The Mujer Migrante Memorial is a collaborative project that combines urban art and digital storytelling to honor the memory of women who lost their lives while crossing the Arizona desert. Created at UCLA, the project includes both a large-scale mural in Venice, California, and an interactive ArcGIS StoryMap. Together, the project documents 389 migrant women through wooden crosses overlaid with desert imagery, names, and colors associated with feminist struggles. This collaborative effort highlights the intersection of migration, gender, and spatial justice, transforming data into a powerful public memorial of remembrance and resistance.
